Meet us at Bricksalt in the Charleston Marriott for a “Meet and Greet and Cash Bar.” The Bricksalt is the new name for the Whitewater Grill, which has undergone extensive renovation as part of the Marriott’s $8 million upgrade. We have the room right next to the bar for reconnecting, chatting, spreading rumors and whatever. Dress is sports casual at this cash bar event. Just show up, no reservations are required.
Friday, Aug 9th, 6:30 pm CHS 63 Class Reunion
Dress is professional casual or however you wish. Starts at 6:30 pm in the Charleston Marriott’s Pavilion Room (access from the third floor) with hors d’oeuvre and plenty of room to easily renew acquaintances. DJ Super Duper Charlie Cooper will play our kinda music in the background so we may also chat. For those who want to prove they’ve “still got it,” there will be a small dance floor where you may “break a leg” if you wish. Literally.
Oh yeah, be sure to be on time because we have one early surprise for you!

While there’s certainly been an out-migration of classmates from West Virginia during the past 50 years; the vast majority still live closer to home rather than further away. At least that’s according to our classmate database which is being updated almost daily as we find new addresses.
Specifically, 47% of classmates with addresses on our list still have West Virginia mailing addresses. Next highest is Florida with 9%. We have no way of knowing, however, how many moved to Florida and worked or who retired in West Virginia and then moved to Florida.
A full 61% of us live within common driving distance to Charleston. We count addresses in the states of Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland in addition to West Virginia for this total.
The Charleston Marriott has been chosen as the site for the Charleston High School Class of 1963 Reunion on August 9, 2013. The Charleston Marriott is in the heart of Reunion Action as it is directly across from the Civic Center, the location of the All-Class Reunion Activities on Saturday night, August 10, 2013. It’s also directly across the street from the Charleston Town Center Mall and within walking distance of most downtown hotels. Located next to the Marriott is the Embassy Suites hotel.
